Longbow is 57 feet
(17m) long and was built in 1984 by Bowman Yachts, giving her
a pedigree of high quality boatbuilding. For a maximum of seven
overnight guests she provides an unrivalled degree of space, light and
stowage. The three cabins with en suite facilities (including hot
showers) provide guests with privacy and home comforts.
The new 130hp engine, fitted for the start of the 2006 season, is the last of the original systems to have been replaced and updated. Longbow is fitted with modern electronic navigation equipment including a chart plotter and radar. A generator can provide 240V mains power and a heater keeps cabins warm and dry. A well equipped galley, including a deep freeze and fridge, has helped us to develop an enviable reputation for the high quality of home-made meals we serve aboard.
As a result of her water line length (44 ft), sleek lines and weight (~18 tons), Longbow is a sea-kindly and well mannered boat. Her powerful, well balanced rig ensures she is fast yet exceptionally light on the helm in all conditions.
We encourage you to take as much or as little part in the sailing as you like: take the wheel, pull in sails, help with the navigation or simply sit back and enjoy the whole experience. The cockpit and bridge deck allow all hands comfortably and safely on deck, whether crewing, just relaxing or eating a meal at the cockpit table.
